Without music, our lives would be incomplete, lacking the transformative power that music holds. It has the ability to uplift our spirits, provide solace, and ignite a range of emotions that transcend the ordinary. In times when the burdens of life become overwhelming, music serves as a source of solace and comfort, reminding us of the beauty and joy that can be found in its enchanting melodies.
Music transcends mere beats, notes, and rhythm; it possesses the profound ability to penetrate the depths of the human spirit. It goes beyond the surface-level elements and becomes a universal language capable of touching hearts and inspiring humanity. Music has the remarkable power to evoke emotions, stir the soul, and create connections that surpass cultural and linguistic boundaries. It communicates on a profound level, resonating with individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their background or experiences. Through its enchanting melodies and expressive harmonies, music has the capacity to unite people, ignite passion, and evoke a range of emotions that words alone cannot capture. Becoming a master of music is a continuous and cyclical journey.
Hindustani classical music is not just an artistic expression; it serves as a spiritual path that connects both listeners and practitioners to the divine essence. Indian classical music classes embody the richness and purity of this cultural heritage. Rooted in ancient traditions, influenced by the Vedas and revered musical philosophies, this performing art form holds profound significance.
The essence of Hindustani classical music lies in the integrity of Raag, which defines the melodic structure, and the precise positioning of the notes (swars). Each rendition encapsulates the diligent expression of emotions embedded within the Raag, aiming to create a harmonious and uplifting experience. Dhrupad and Khayal are prominent styles within the realm of classical vocal music classes, while the repertoire expands to encompass semi-classical styles such as Ghazal, Dadra, Chaiti, Tumri, Kajri, Bhajan, and more. These renditions are adorned with intricate embellishments like murki, andolan, and gamak, enhancing the musical tapestry.
The resonating voices of the singers harmonize with the shruthi (scale) and rhythm (taal), transporting the listeners to a state of tranquility and inner peace. Sangeet Sadhna extends a warm invitation to all those seeking the finest vocal music classes. It imparts the art of music and nurtures aspiring individuals into professional singers, cultivating their skills and artistic prowess.

I, Mr. Sanjay Kukadia was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. At a very young age I relocated to Pune with my Mother, and since then, Pune has been my home, and the city holds a special place in my heart. My native place is Vanthali near Junagadh in Saurashtra State, and I frequently visit there to be with my relatives.
I completed my schooling from Shree Vijay Vallabh School in Pune and continued my College education at S.P. College, Pune. It was during my college years that I discovered my Passion for Music and began taking basic music lessons from Shri Yashwant Ramchandra Karandikar at Bharat Natya Mandir, Pune. This ignited my love for Indian classical music, leading me to pursue further education in the field.
Under the guidance of Pt. Dr. N.V. Divan at Saraswati Sangeet Vidyalaya, Pune, I completed my Sangeet Visharad and Sangeet Alankaar Degrees in 1996 and 1998, respectively. I was fortunate to receive training in the techniques of different Gharanas and Gayaki styles under the tutelage of Pt. Dr. Vikas Kashalkar.
In the year 2000, I established SURMANDIR VIDYALAYA with a vision to Promote and spread Indian classical music worldwide. Located in Wadgaon Sheri, Pune, our school offers training in vocal, instrumental, and dance. SURMANDIR VIDYALAYA is affiliated with AKHIL BHARATIYA GANDHARVA MAHAVIDYALAYA MANDAL, MUMBAI and serves as an authorized examination center for music examinations conducted by them. Numerous students have not only learned Indian classical music at SURMANDIR VIDYALAYA but also completed their certifications from AKHIL BHARATIYA GANDHARVA MAHAVIDYALAYA MANDAL, MUMBAI.
Following that, in 2002, I started working as a music teacher at St. Anne’s High School, Pune. To further enhance my knowledge and skills, Pt. Rajendra Kandalgaonkar guided me to complete my Masters in Performing Arts (Vocal) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2014.
Pune — my karma Bhoomi has brought many awards to my credit. To mention a few…
1)Was awarded the renowned Pt. Appasaheb Jalgaonkar Puraskar in the year 2014 for the significant contribution in the field of Music. And
2) Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Ideal Teacher Award 2019 for the hard-work and dedication in the field of Education.
3) Got the opportunity and privilege to be the Judge for many welknown and renowned Music Contests and Competitions.
Currently, I am taking lessons on Voice Culture, Naad Sadhana, and Riyaz techniques from Pt. Parkhi Buwa in Pune. SURMANDIR VIDYALAYA has been operating offline since its inception, but I am planning to expand its reach by offering online classes. My vision for SURMANDIR is to not only promote Indian classical music to native Indians but also to non-native Indians, spreading the message of harmony through the melodies of our culture. Music, for me, is a form of expression that transcends language barriers and unites us in emotion.
Apart from music, my hobbies include singing and gardening. I find joy in dedicating my time to music throughout the day. I have a genuine desire to assist those in need and place great importance on my goals and dreams. Regardless of the challenges I encounter, I never abandon my aspirations until I achieve them. Patience is one of my admirable qualities, enabling me to navigate through the chaos of daily life. I believe in giving my utmost effort in everything I do.
